Alton, My Village

I live in a village
That nestles around a Bay
With a Main Street that runs through it,
You can cover it all in a day.
Just a tiny little hamlet,
Like thousands of others more
That you'll find dotted o'er the country
If you travel it, o'er and o'er.
They say it's a pretty valley
We're passing through today
And sometimes they stop and view it
Then hasten on their way.
But to me, it's a wonderful village
The finest in all the land
